About Ranelagh Community Response
Local care, practical support and community connection across Dublin South East.
Ranelagh Community Response is a community-based registered charity supporting older people, people with disabilities and others who may be vulnerable or socially isolated. Our core service is Meals on Wheels: nutritious meals delivered five days a week by staff and volunteers, with the regular contact that comes from a familiar face at the door.
We serve Ranelagh, Rathmines, Rathgar, Donnybrook, Milltown, Ballsbridge, Sandymount and Irishtown.
How we began
Ranelagh Community Response was founded in 2020 to help local people during COVID. Since then, we have continued to provide dependable meal deliveries while building a wider network of volunteers, practical assistance and community partnerships.
What we do today
In 2025, we delivered approximately 17,046 meals and supported more than 100 service users. Alongside our five-day Meals on Wheels service, volunteers helped people stay connected, Christmas hampers provided seasonal support, and Transition Year students took part in community activities.
We work with local residents, schools and organisations, as well as partners including the HSE, Dublin City Council and FoodCloud. These relationships help us respond to local needs and support people to remain connected and independent in their own communities.
